Playing the Lottery and Losing

So it happened.  I thought about it too many times – how to win at the lottery.  Then I spent several hours studying the numbers and performing statistics.  I became confident that I could beat the Lottery.  But you can’t…. The balls don’t care.

And because you can’t win, I am going to show you how to lose at playing the lottery:

Step one:
Enter all the winning numbers into an excel spreadsheet:

Lotto Excel

Step two:
   Do some fancy statistics

Lotto Stats

Step three:
Pick 6 sets of numbers based on those fancy statistics
Lotto Selection

Step four:
   Buy your tickets

Step five:
   Lose.

Step six:
   Repeat

Congratulations!  Your a lottery loser.

Buy a Website (Failure)

Time Lost: 2 months
Money Lost: $600

I don’t want to write about this one because this failure hurts. I had convinced myself this was going to work.  I failed at my plan to Buy A Website.  I tried a new plan to Buy A Website, and that failed too.

I was scammed and I lost hundreds. No, that’s not true. I knew the risks. I wasn’t scammed, I bought exactly what was promised. I failed to adhere to the guideline and that resulted in a failed endeavour.

Late at night, tired and frustrated I tried to Bounce Back. Problem was, I wasn’t done dealing with my problems. How do you Bounce Back when you aren’t done being Bounced? You don’t. I lost focus and concentration and was once again trying to make a million while in a compromised situation.

Fail

Twice I have failed because of a compromised situation.

I have learned? No.

I am aware? Yes, and awareness will help me learn.

I have failed? Yes, and I have accepted it.

I have moved past my failure and will continue my pursuit of millions.

When Life Gets in the Way, Bounce Back.

If you have decided that Making a Million Dollars is your number one priority you need to delete the bookmark to this blog, throw out your phone/computer, get a coffee and hang out with your family and friends.  Do not allow your millions of dollars to consume you.  Take care of your family, take care of yourself, manage your day job.  When life gets in the way, let it get in the way.  Let life get in the way because it’s your life and then; Bounce Back

Bounce Back

I’m not a philosopher, I’m a leader. If this sounds like philosophy please remind yourself that I’m not a philosopher, I’m a leader.  I have lead high performance teams through hundreds of millions of dollars of construction and I have experienced energy destroying, motivation killing delays and set backs that make you feel like you are as insignificant as a grain of sand sinking into the depths of the ocean.  Every time the team experienced such a disaster, we bounced back.  Bounced back from every experience and became a better team and stronger individuals.  We would go home one night when the disaster ended and the next morning everyone would  Bounce Back…

Ten Thousand Lost

To keep a long complicated story short, I own a house near Ottawa and I have rented it to a family for the last 5 years.  When I got the house back on August 1, 2017 it was a disaster.  I spent 3 weeks cleaning the grime from the bathrooms and floors and have been repairing the walls, floors, lights and every other part of the house for the last 1.5 weeks.  I don’t think they ever cleaned.  Finally it is ready for painting.  One week of painting and one week of landscaping then I can sell it.

All of this will cost me about $10,000 and robbed me of one month of time and will rob another 2 weeks of my time.

The $10,000 will be recovered when I sell the house so it’s not a financial loss, it is time lost and lost time is opportunity lost.

My Million Dollar plan came to a screeching halt.  The house was priority and I put All My Millions aside while cleaning and fixing the house.  Once the house is done, I will have to Bounce Back…

Recipe for the Elixir of Bounce Back

Ingredients:

1 mug black coffee
1 ounce Irish cream whisky
1 glass of water
1 set of headphones
1 favourite music album
1 bowl of Cheerios – keep the box nearby

Directions:

Combine whisky and coffee, stir gently.  Turn favourite album to medium volume and place headphones over your ears (or in your ears of they are the ear bud type).  Eat the Cheerios while staring at the steaming mug of coffee and whisky.  Once you are done eating the Cheerios, read the word Cheerios and absorb the energy coming from the bright yellow box.  Clear your mind of everything negative (it is important to keep your eyes open and keep reading the word Cheerios).  You can think of things -this isn’t meditation- you have to get rid of all your negative thoughts.  Turn the music down and keep reading.  Slowly turn the music volume all the way down while continuing to read.  Once your mind is clear (this may take 30 minutes or more, the time is not relevant) sip the coffee with whisky and continue to read the word Cheerios.  Just take a few sips.  Open your Million Dollar Challenge Grid and Bounce Back…

NOW – Go ahead and gulp that coffee down!

Win the Lottery (Failure)

Many, many, many of us buy lottery tickets hoping to get rich.  A friend of mine recently stopped buying lottery tickets and began peer-to-peer lending.  She is on her way to a million dollars.

Winning the lottery is impossible.

  1. Odds of winning Lotto Max: 1 in 28,633,528
  2. Odds of winning the Lotto 6/49: 1 in 13,983,816
  3. Odds of being struck by lightning this year: 1 in 900,000
  4. Odds of being eaten by a zombie before you are 45 years old: 1 in 824,575
  5. Odds of becoming a billionaire: 1 in 770,000

I’ll take my chances with the zombies before I buy a lottery ticket.

Create a Blog (Failure)

I tried to make a leadership blog because I’m actually a great leader.  Technically I just made myself a bad leader by stating I’m a good leader so you can see why my blog failed.  This is not how I will make a million dollars.  Too much work, too personal and too much like work.  Did I mention too much work?
